Thudding drums, grinding bass, slashing guitars, and howling vocals. The perfect marriage of Dischord, AmRep, and Touch & Go? Probably. Worth your time? Definitely. BELLS≥
"Singer of this group is one of the guitar players in the equally-brilliant band Bells≥. Here he spits and swaggers over a bed of vintage-sounding street punk bruisers." -Robert Ham BELLS≥
Well-dressed and well-mannered. Political yet politely packed with fury. Fighting the good fight. Serious, but not severe. A nice bunch of fellows to share a fine meal with. BELLS≥
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
